Neo-Marxism

With the advent of the industrial revolution and general prosperity in the west, there was no longer an obvious economic class distinction whereby Marxists could rally support. Therefore, Neo-Marxism represents a shift toward other ways to preserve the oppressor-oppressed dichotomy which is central to the Marxist message. Social classes, sex, race, religion, sexuality, and any other distinction can be used to frame individuals as marginalized.
