Ivermectin - Unhinged Conspiracy Theory, Hinged Conspiracy Fact
For an meta analysis of Ivermectin (IVM), Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and other treatments for COVID-19, visit: https://c19early.org/
Regarding COVID-19 in general, see this document that I wrote to compile the research that I had done during the pandemic, which has aged quite well, all things considered.
Ivermectin PsyOp
You may have heard of this referred to as "horse dewormer." That's due to an effective campaign designed to convince you that there's nothing to see when it comes to Ivermectin, and that anyone who tries to take it is a lunatic willing to consume animal medicine intended to treat something completely different at the risk of their own health.
Propaganda works.
In fact, it is a drug prescribed for humans, and it is not just an anti-parasitic, it is also antiviral (as a host-acting agent).
It is also off-patent which means that it is cheap and widely available (i.e. unprofitable compared to recently developed treatments).
The reason that some were using the animal version is because U.S. and international health agencies (WHO, CDC) made it so that any doctors attempting to prescribe IVM off-label as COVID prophylaxis or treatment were at risk of losing their license, receiving fines, etc.
Ivermectin is one of the safest drugs on the market -- safer than Aspirin.

It may also be an anticancer drug. Source
Bad data?
One critique of the meta-analysis for IVM and HCQ is that a lot of "bad data" do not equal "good data". In fact, that is why we do meta-analysis. A meta-analysis is considered one of the strongest forms of evidence that there is; more than any individual randomized control trial (RCT). Obviously, the better the data there are, the stronger the conclusion will be. The more data, the stronger the conclusion that can be made (as long as the data are not effected by the same quality issues and biases). At the very least, the more data there are, the stronger the signal is that a proper study study should be conducted.
In addition, the ones dismissing positive studies as "bad data" usually refer to larger, better funded studies. However, larger and better funded does not mean a better study. We also need to examine the methodologies used, and consider what is actually being studied. The diagram below demonstrates why the WHO Solidarity and Recovery trials should not be considered "good data." They completely dismiss the optimal protocol suggested by HCQ advocates. Thus, these trials serve only to straw-man an argument against them.

(This graph applies to IVM as well)
In addition, they will also fully side with the international health policy of masking (which was enforced by businesses and government agencies), which was defended on the CDC website by a single case study of two hairstylist (https://www.city-journal.org/article/do-masks-work). I know because I visited the site even after COVID mania had ended and it was still there. They seem to have quietly updated their guidance to properly fitting N95 mask and above, which would have been accurate guidance to provide when it mattered.
Further, they will fully side with the media which stated ad nauseum that the entire population be vaccinated (and sufficiently boosted) to "protect grandma," when in fact, there were precisely zero data showing that vaccination reduced transmission. That is because that was not what the manufacturers were testing for (they only sought improved outcomes for vaccinated individuals), and in fact they never claimed that transmission would be reduced (which they would have if it was demonstrated). That is because you can be a carrier without showing symptoms, and vaccination can increase transmission due to this very fact.
Although IVM and HCQ are in focus, other COVID preventatives and remedies advocated by alternative-minded health professionals include Vitamin D, Zinc, exercise, sunshine, sleep, and nasal irrigation -- all profoundly safe things that contribute to overall health and wellness. All things that had sufficient data to base guidance upon. All things that the medical experts refused to suggest. Instead? An ineffective, costly, and dangerous protocol: isolate, mask, vaccinate, wait until late stage infection, treat with expensive, dangerous drugs, then use a mechanical ventilator when that fails (which in many cases is a death sentence).
Unhinged Conspiracy Theory
Now, with those demonstrable facts out of the way, I will proceed to discuss my unhinged theory as to the motivation for burying IVM specifically.
It's too good at curing too many diseases, particularly parasitic infections.
NOTE: The fact that other safe, cheap, and effective treatments exist (and were buried) beside this is evidence against said theory, but the facts are interesting in-and-of themselves).
A Broad Ranging Cure
Parasites in general
As an anti-parasitic with anti-viral properties, Ivermectin is a broad-ranging treatment. Millions of parasitic infections go undiagnosed, untreated, or misdiagnosed (Source). It is without question that many unhealthy people are unhealthy because of or are taking expensive medication to "treat" un/misdiagnosed parasitic infections. How many stories have you heard of someone going to the doctor, receiving a number of tests, then being told that they can't figure out what it is, or being passed from specialist to specialist and given treatments that ultimately do nothing?
1 in 20 (12 million) Americans will receive a misdiagnosis every year. Statistically speaking, it is likely that many of these diseases are caused by parasites. This results in a vast amount of money flowing into the U.S. medical industrial complex. Many of the diseases caused by these common parasites have neurological effects. Whereas IVM is a cheap and safe drug for which we are still discovering uses.
There are entire communities of people that purport health benefits of parasite cleanses for "asymptomatic" people and advocate for semi-regular cleanses.
Toxoplasmosis
Toxoplasmosis is a disease resulting from infection with T. gondii, a single-celled parasite. It can be transmitted in various ways but particularly through contact with infected cat feces.
- Around 30% of Americans have been infected with Toxoplasmosis, other countries have higher prevalence. Source
- Most infections do not cause noticeable symptoms of typical sickness. Source I say "typical sickness," because behavioral symptoms my be harder to diagnose. These cases can still become chronic or latent.
- Ever hear of crazy cat lady syndrome?
- Neurological effects may include greater likelihood to develop schizophrenia, higher suicide rate, reduced reaction times, increase in risk taking, reduced problem solving & cognitive function.
- "When infected human adults were compared with uninfected adults on personality questionnaires or on a panel of behavioral tests, several differences were found. ... Possible mechanisms by which T. gondii may affect human behavior include its effect on dopamine and on testosterone." (increasing both.) Source
IVM is of course an anti-parasitic and should be expected to treat toxoplasmosis, but does HCQ? Yes. Many HCQ proponents suggest that it be taken along with Azithromycin, which is also effective against T. gondii infection (Source). Vitamin D is also a part of the anti-COVID regimen that advocates suggested and [reduces infection]((https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6635350/).
I saw a lecture from someone stating that there was a relationship toxoplasmosis infection and homosexuality. For the life of me I cannot find it again.
Chagas Disease
This is another common disease caused by a parasite. The CDC states that the chronic phase of this disease:
"can last many years or even a lifetime. Most people have no symptoms during this time. However, about 20 – 30% of those infected develop serious problems, including:
- Heart issues, such as an enlarged heart, heart failure, altered heart rate or rhythm, or sudden death.
- Digestive problems, such as an enlarged esophagus or colon, leading to trouble eating or going to the bathroom."
Others, including neurological symptoms (depression and anxiety), have been observed. (Addl source)
Cancer
I already mentioned that evidence suggests that IVM could help treat cancer, but that is separate from it's antiparasitic effect. It is also known that parasites can cause cancer, and there may be more of a parasite-cancer link than we are currently aware.
A Parasite-Cancer Relationship
Parasites that Can Lead to Cancer
CDC researchers link cancer cells from parasite to human tumors
Speculation on Parasites
The only things that I will say (i.e. without data to support) is that I suspect that parasites in general (and T. gondii specifically) have a more significant effect on behavior than is demonstrated with the existing limited studies.
Hinged Conspiracy Fact
A Non-Human Conspiracy of Oppression
Satan hates us all, not just Christians. He comes to "steal, kill, and destroy." He will certainly use individuals as his agents, but only until they are no longer useful. It is no question whether the Bible teaches that Satan wants us to be sick and infirmed. This is not to say that every sickness is caused by the devil, but it does mean that some are.
By using a physical means to kill & destroy, it is subject to physical limitations. The existence of readily available cures for various illnesses means that those illnesses cannot be used as effectively to oppress mankind, just like the prevalence of good information limits his ability to use certain lies to deceive.
We know that many individuals are used by Satan to accomplish his will, and some of them are in varying degrees of direct communication.
It is therefore not far-fetched or even questionable for a Christian to believe that some powerful individuals (recall that Satan is the "ruler of this world," and that he offered Christ the kingdoms of the world) would actively cause or contribute to mass sickness.
