Ministries & Gifts
Although some may disagree, we believe that all of the giftings and ministries are available to believers in Christ. These gifts ultimately come from God and not our own choice or effort. That's what makes them gifts! However, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't ask God for more of the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:9β13), or that we should not earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially prophecy (1 Corinthians 14:1).

AI Version:
Apostleship - An apostle is one who is sent out with authority to establish and oversee churches. Ephesians 4:11 mentions apostles as foundational ministry gifts. Modern apostles may plant churches, oversee multiple congregations, or bring the Gospel to unreached areas with pioneering authority.
Prophecy - The gift of prophecy involves speaking messages from God for edification, encouragement, and comfort (1 Corinthians 14:3). Prophets may receive divine revelation about current situations or future events, always in alignment with Scripture, to build up the body of Christ.
Evangelism - Evangelists are equipped to effectively share the Gospel and lead people to Christ (Ephesians 4:11). They have a passion for the lost and a supernatural ability to communicate salvation truth in ways that draw people to Jesus.
Pastoral care - Pastors shepherd God's flock with care, protection, and nurturing (Ephesians 4:11). This gift involves feeding believers spiritually, caring for their wellbeing, guiding them through challenges, and helping them mature in faith.
Teaching - Teachers have the ability to explain and apply Scripture clearly and accurately (Romans 12:7). They help others understand God's Word, making complex truths accessible and applicable to daily life, building a strong biblical foundation in believers.
Helping/service - This gift involves practical assistance and support to meet needs in the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:28). Those with this gift joyfully serve others in tangible ways, often behind the scenes, ensuring the church functions smoothly.
Administration - Administrators organize, coordinate, and manage church activities and resources effectively (1 Corinthians 12:28). They bring order, direction, and leadership to projects and ministries, helping the church accomplish its mission efficiently.
Encouraging - Encouragers come alongside others to strengthen, comfort, and motivate them in their faith (Romans 12:8). They have a special ability to uplift discouraged hearts, inspire perseverance, and help believers see God's perspective in difficult situations.
Giving - Those with the gift of giving generously contribute their resources to God's work with joy (Romans 12:8). They recognize that everything belongs to God and cheerfully support ministry, the needy, and kingdom purposes, often sacrificially.
Leading - Leaders provide vision, direction, and guidance to God's people (Romans 12:8). They inspire others to follow Christ more fully, make wise decisions for the community, and take responsibility for moving the church toward its God-given goals.
Showing mercy - This gift enables people to demonstrate compassion and kindness to those suffering or in need (Romans 12:8). They minister to the hurting, sick, or marginalized with genuine empathy and Christ's love, bringing comfort and practical help.
Words of wisdom - This supernatural gift provides divine insight for specific situations, knowing the right thing to do or say (1 Corinthians 12:8). It brings God's perspective and solution to complex problems, helping believers make godly decisions.
Words of knowledge - This gift involves receiving supernatural information about people or situations that couldn't be known naturally (1 Corinthians 12:8). It may reveal hidden needs, confirm God's direction, or bring needed insight for ministry and healing.
Faith - The gift of faith involves extraordinary confidence in God's power and promises (1 Corinthians 12:9). Those with this gift believe God for the impossible, pray with unusual boldness, and inspire others to trust God in difficult circumstances.
Healing - This gift enables believers to be channels of God's healing power for physical, emotional, or spiritual restoration (1 Corinthians 12:9). They pray for the sick with expectation and often see miraculous recoveries as signs of God's kingdom.
Working miracles - This gift manifests God's supernatural power to override natural laws (1 Corinthians 12:10). Miracles demonstrate God's authority over creation and authenticate His message, bringing glory to Him and strengthening faith.
Discerning spirits - This gift provides supernatural ability to distinguish between divine, human, and demonic influences (1 Corinthians 12:10). It helps protect the church from deception, identify spiritual opposition, and confirm authentic moves of God's Spirit.
Speaking in tongues - This gift involves speaking in languages unknown to the speaker, either for private prayer or public worship (1 Corinthians 12:10). In prayer, it edifies the believer; in corporate settings with interpretation, it edifies the church and can be a sign to unbelievers.
Interpretation of tongues - This gift allows someone to understand and communicate the meaning of tongues spoken in corporate worship (1 Corinthians 12:10). The interpretation edifies the congregation, making the message from God accessible to all present, building up the body.
